The Kerala Design Awards represent a prestigious recognition of design excellence in the state of Kerala, India. These awards celebrate and honour the innovative and creative minds behind outstanding design projects across various fields, including architecture, interior design, product design, fashion design, communication design, UX design, and more. KDA not only celebrates outstanding design achievements but also inspires a culture of continuous creativity and design excellence within Kerala's vibrant design community. The awards will be selected by an international jury panel, ensuring a diverse and impartial evaluation of the submissions. The awardees will be recognised at the Kochi Design Week's grand ceremony, where esteemed chief guests will present the awards, enhancing their prestige and recognition.

Terms and Conditions

These Terms and Conditions ("Terms") govern the submission and participation in the Kerala Design Awards (KDA). By submitting an entry for consideration in the KDA, participants agree to abide by these Terms:

Eligibility

  • Nominations are open to individuals, teams, and organizations involved in design-related projects.
  • Entrants must have a valid connection to Kerala, India, either through residency, project location, or significant involvement in the design project within the state.

Project Eligibility

  • Nominated design projects should have been completed within 2022.
  • Design projects must align with the designated award categories.

Originality and Permissions

  • Entrants must confirm the originality of their submitted work and hold the necessary permissions, copyrights, and licenses for the design project.
  • The organizing committee reserves the right to disqualify entries found to infringe upon intellectual property rights.

Compliance with Regulations

  • Design projects should comply with all applicable local, state, and national laws and regulations.

Privacy and Data Usage

  • Personal data collected during the submission process will be used solely for KDA purposes and will not be shared with third parties without consent.

Judging and Awards

  • The judging panel, consisting of experts in the relevant fields, will evaluate entries based on predetermined criteria.
  • Decisions of the judging panel are final, and no appeals will be considered.
  • KDA may grant multiple awards in each category, including but not limited to Winner, Runner-up, and Honorable Mention.

Documentation

  • Nominators are required to provide comprehensive documentation of their design project, including images, descriptions, plans, and any other relevant materials.

Entry Fees

  • An entry fee of Rs.2500 per entry is applicable, must be paid upon submission of the nomination. This fee contributes to the administrative costs of the KDA.

Non-Discrimination and Inclusivity

  • KDA values diversity and inclusivity. Entries should not discriminate against any individual or group based on race, gender, ethnicity, religion, or any other characteristic.

Publication and Promotion

  • Entrants grant KDA the right to use submitted materials, including images and descriptions, for promotional and publication purposes related to the awards.

Disclaimer

  • KDA is not liable for any damages or losses incurred by participants during the submission process or award events.

Ethical Considerations

  • KDA encourages sustainable and responsible design practices. Entries with ethical considerations, such as sustainability, social impact, and responsible design, are welcomed and may be evaluated positively.

Changes and Cancellation

  • KDA reserves the right to modify, extend, or cancel the awards or its terms and conditions at its discretion.

Governing Law

  • These Terms are governed by the laws of India, and any disputes shall be subject to the jurisdiction of the courts in Kochi.

By submitting an entry to the Kerala Design Awards, participants acknowledge and accept these Terms and Conditions. These Terms are subject to change, and participants are encouraged to review them regularly for updates.
